Although he is one of the fan favorites for his works, the filmmaker did a not-so-pleasant job while filming the first MCU movie. However, the fans shouldn’t go and bash the director straight away as reportedly it was a mistake on his end to not understand the situation.

Looks like director Jon Favreau was a bit too serious with the filming process of the 2008 Robert Downey Jr. movie. During the filming of the scene where Pepper Potts was running away from Ironmonger, Gwyneth Paltrow received a serious injury on her knee.

When she reported this to Favreau, the filmmaker didn’t take it very seriously and asked her to continue filming- “he was rolling his eyes, saying ‘you’re fine'”. Paltrow also had no other options and went on with the process with the pain. According to a report by Comicbook, Gwyneth Paltrow also added that the exact response by Jon Favreau was:

“Okay, Blondie, let’s just keep it moving!”

However, it must be noted that it was a genuine mistake by Jon Favreau and he wasn’t being very rough or something. The founder of Goop also added that the filmmaker apologized to her for not taking the injury too seriously after the latter’s wife found the injury to be a very bad one.

It was not until the shoot ended for the day that Gwyneth Paltrow understood the seriousness of the situation. When the whole team was having dinner at a pizza place, Jon Favreau’s wife Joya Tillem, who was a physician herself discovered the swelling on her knee and asked her to consult a doctor.

“We were all having dinner at this pizza place. I was sitting next to Jon’s wife, and my knee swelled up. She said that I had to go to see the doctor.”

She added that the Jungle Book director immediately apologized for not believing in her before and ignoring the injury.

“Jon had to say he was sorry for not believing that I hurt my knee”

It can be said that it was a pure case of misunderstanding that led to the scenario. The injury was so critical that even the doctors were shocked about how was she able to work the whole day with that. The incident also sheds light on the extraordinary enduring skills of Gwyneth Paltrow.
