York Co. woman accused of murder in Florida – WSOC TV

YORK COUNTY, S.C.,None — A York County woman is accused of murder in Florida.

Patty White, 40, is charged in the murder of 67-year-old Michele O'Dowd. Police say she killed O'Dowd Thursday in Florida and then stole her debit card.

Police said the victim in Jacksonville had taken the younger woman in months ago, and was helping her out.

Jacksonville police say White used the stolen card twice at bank ATMs near the crime scene, and that they identified her using the bank's cameras.

York police got a call Saturday that a murder suspect was there. They said they found White at her parents’ home on Wilson Street.

York police say White had lived with O'Dowd off and on for months.

“She had lived there then left, lived and left a couple of times,” Lt. Rich Caddell said. “She said she had gone back down there this time to talk to her."

Jacksonville police say she came down to rob the woman, ransacked the apartment and then it turned to murder.

White is awaiting extradition to Florida.
