Why was Nickmercs’ operator removed from COD?
Nicholas, widely known as “Nickmercs,” has gained international recognition as a prominent Twitch streamer, primarily due to his exceptional gameplay skills and remarkable achievements in the Call of Duty series.
However, he recently faced severe backlash for his remarks regarding the LGBTQ community.
Consequently, he has been subjected to sanctions, and the video game publisher has decided to remove the Call of Duty skin bundle associated with Nickmercs from the game.
Nickmercs collaborated with fellow streamer TimTheTatman to create this skin bundle, which was designed for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
Why was Nickmercs’ operator removed from COD?
The decision to remove the Call of Duty skin bundle associated with Nickmercs followed his controversial remarks about the LGBTQ community during a live stream.
His comments received significant backlash from both the community and the video game publisher, Activision.
Activision firmly expressed its disapproval of his behavior, stating that they do not support individuals who engage in hurtful actions or promote discrimination.
Nickmercs, in his defense, clarified that his remarks were not intended to offend anyone.
He claimed that he was simply attempting to be humorous and playful, as his content typically revolves around those aspects.
Following the incident, he offered apologies to anyone who may have been affected by his comments and expressed his willingness to learn and grow as a person.
In today’s climate, where inclusivity and diversity hold immense significance, Nickmercs’ remarks were deemed inappropriate.
It is crucial to recognize the power of words and their potential to cause harm, leaving individuals in emotional distress.
As a prominent figure with a large following, Nickmercs bears the responsibility to uphold and encourage positive values.
The removal of his Call of Duty skin bundle acts as a deterrent to other content creators in the gaming industry, emphasizing that such behavior will not be accepted and that there are tangible repercussions for perpetuating actions of this nature.
Nickmercs’ comments regarding the LGBTQ community were inappropriate and offensive.
Activision’s decision to remove his skin bundle demonstrates their intolerance towards such behavior.
As content creators, it is essential for us all to prioritize respect and the promotion of positive values, refraining from using derogatory language or making jokes that could harm any community.
It is crucial that we collaborate in fostering inclusivity, understanding, and respect for individuals regardless of their gender, sexuality, race, or any other characteristic. Stay tuned for further engaging updates.

I have a brand deal with Call of Duty worth $4.5k. Just canceled it and threw out all of my COD products, merch, and will actively be boycotting call of duty from now on. We stand with NICKMERCS!!!

I barely play CoD and I still think this is ridiculous.
A huge streamer/influencer that has been part of the Call of Duty scene since the near beginning lost his bundle in the game just because he said he wants to raise his kid the way HE wants to.
