Great but where is “Peacemaker” filmed?
It brings up the question – where is “Peacemaker” filmed? Filming of season one took place throughout much of 2021 during COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Gunn and crew chose to film in Vancouver, Canada because, at the time, Canada was safer than the United States regarding the virus. But as it happened, Vancouver was an ideal filming location for “Peacemaker” because the dreary, yet beautiful Pacific Northwest has such an important effect on the show’s gray-skies aesthetic.

A temporary jaunt to Los Angeles
Here is a bit of trivia for the diehard fans. Very early on, the production temporarily moved to Los Angeles so that Amanda Waller, played by Viola Davis, could film the post-credit scene in the DC Extended Universe movie “Suicide Squad”. This scene commendably set up the plot for “Peacemaker”. But they filmed the entirety of the actual Peacemaker television show in Vancouver.
According to the Atlas of Wonders, the fictional setting of Evergreen, Charlton County, Washington State is a nod to the Green Lantern’s hometown of Evergreen and to Charlton Comics, which originally came up with the Peacemaker character. The Vancouver area, not Washington State, became the perfect fit for the show.
Actual filming locations in Vancouver
Many of the iconic settings are easy to find. For example, the show’s opening credits and many scenes in Season One feature the “Pink Palace,” according to Daily Hive. The landmark Pink Palace was for many years the Pacific Inn Resort & Conference Centre in Surrey, located at 1160 King George Boulevard. The Pink Palace is now a major filming location and no longer functions as a hotel.
This structure makes an important appearance in season one, episode two, because that’s where Annie Sturphausen takes Peacemaker to her love shack – er, to her flat. Some episodes of “Riverdale” were also filmed at the Pink Palace, as were parts of “The Stand” series based on Stephen King’s eponymous novel.
The Overland Loft Suites
Per the Atlas of Wonders, Project Butterfly’s members stayed at the pretend Overview Lofts Suites, which is really Accent Inns Burnaby in British Columbia about 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver. In the inn’s complex is the fictional Fennel Fields, where Adrian Chase works as a waiter. In real life, though, the restaurant was Ricky’s Country Restaurant, which has since shut its doors. The Accent Inns complex is conveniently located directly across from Bridge Studios, where the series’ studio work took place.
A.R.G.U.S. Headquarters
The A.R.G.U.S. headquarters is located in a vintage vacant building in Surrey at 5756 176th Street, less than an hour from Downtown Vancouver by car or public transit. The production put up a sizeable, now-iconic sign reading “Henenlotter Video,” which was so prominent that it was visible on Google Maps. Sometime after March 2021, though, the faux video store sign came down. Interestingly, this structure was also a filming site of the fictional Cerberus Books where Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.”
O’Rourke’s Sports Bar
A convenient jaunt from the A.R.G.U.S. HQ is the equally fictional O’Rourke’s Sports Bar. This tavern, where the Peacemaker trails after Jennifer Holland’s character Emilia, is actually The Henry Public House. It’s a longstanding gastropub with solid reviews, located at 5708 176th Street. You might grab a brew or a bite to eat there before perusing other nearby “Peacemaker” filming locations. You might consider strolling down 26th Avenue in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Surrey to reminisce about – or reenact if you prefer – some important scenes.
