One of the hottest American celebrity couples of 2022 was Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson. Their relationship was all over the media, mainly because of Kim’s dramatic divorce from her ex-husband and superstar rapper/music producer-cum-businessman, Kanye West.
Kardashian and Davidson seemed like “couple goals”. Apart from Kanye West’s drama, the celebrity couple seemed to have a normal relationship. They, however, split after nine months together.

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson were in a romantic relationship that lasted for nine months. Speculations about their budding romance started in October 2021 when Kardashian made an appearance on Saturday Night Live. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians shared an on-screen kiss with Davidson, who is the ex-fiance of American singer, Ariana Grande. The reality was making her debut as a guest host of the hit show. She even tried her hand at acting, including a short play in which she performed opposite Davidson. The duo played Aladdin and Jasmin in a scene that ended with a kiss.
Shortly after, the duo were spotted holding hands while visiting Knott’s Scary Farm in California in late October 2021. A source told E! News that Kim and Pete had started “casually dating”, noting that Pete “told her he doesn’t want to see anyone else”.

“Kim is smitten over him and it’s very exciting to her,” the source added.
The dating rumour steamed up as Kardashian and Davidson joined the former’s sister, Kourtney Kardashian, and her partner, Travis Barker, for fun-filled double dates. They vacationed together and even walked some major red carpets as a couple, particularly the 2022 Met Gala.
Their relationship was very serious, despite various forms of drama from Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kanye West. Kanye West, who now goes by the name, Ye, wanted his ex-wife back but she was not interested. So, the Yeezy founder trolled his ex-wife’s boyfriend on social media. Kardashian and Davidson are no longer dating. On August 5, 2022, news surfaced in the media that the couple had split after nine months of dating. The reason for their split was reportedly due to long distance. Davidson was filming a movie in Australia while Kim remained in California with her family.
The reality TV star later opened up about her split with the comedian during the season 3 premiere of Hulu’s The Kardashians. She told Scott Disick and sister Khloé Kardashian that she and Pete “had talks and talks” and both “communicated well about it”.
“Breakups are just like, not my thing,” she explained. “It’s obviously sad… [Nine months] is a long time,” she added.
Kardashian also added that she felt “a lot of guilt” considering that Davidson “went through a lot” because of her relationship with her ex-husband, Kanye West.
However, the former couple are reportedly on good terms despite their break up. The former duo were captured together with R&B legend, Usher, at the 2023 Met Gala.
What happened to Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson?
On November 2, 2022, an insider told E! News that Kardashian and Davidson “are not speaking” and “not hanging out again”. Eyebrows were raised when Kardashian uploaded a photo of a gorgeous bouquet and a Jasmin Diptyque candle on her 42nd birthday. Many speculated that the flowers were sent by Davidson as a reminder of their Aladdin and Jasmin moment at the Saturday Live Show where their romance was initially ignited with a kiss.
However, both superstars moved on with their lives. Davidson is reportedly dating Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star, Chase Sui Wonders. They were recently seen together at a New York Rangers game in Madison Square Garden in New York City on January 9, 2023. Eyewitnesses told TMZ, as reported by Style Caster, that the two were cuddling while watching something on the comedian’s phone in a cafe in Brooklyn.
Before hanging out with Chase, Davidson reportedly dated Emily Ratajkowski. However, the relationship was brief.
Meanwhile, Kardashian is doing well without Davidson. She told her sister, Khloe Kardashian and Scott Disick that she had a candid conversation with Davidson about the struggles of dating while on a reality show.
She said: “It’s hard when you start dating someone, and you live your life on a reality show, so Pete and I had that conversation right away. You obviously know what you’re getting yourself into. But then the fans were like, ‘Pete’s not on the show.’ And I was like, ‘We said that from the start. It’s not what he does.’”
“But then I opened up, then I had him on the show, I talked about every last thing,” she continued. (ICYMI, Pete briefly appeared on the show during season 2, when he and Kim attended the 2022 Met Gala together.) “He was on at what level he was comfortable with,” Kardashian added.
On May 30, a source told Us Weekly that Kardashian is interested in someone despite saying she was not interested in dating anybody.
“Kim isn’t officially dating anybody, but there is somebody who she’s interested in,” the source said. “So far, there have only been subtle flirtations between them, but they haven’t gone out yet.”
Although she is interested in “pursuing things” with the person, she wants to “keep it under the radar” if things progress,” the source claimed.
“She’s not ready to be seen out on a date with anybody for the time being because she doesn’t want to make it a big deal,” the source continued. “She knows once she’s seen on a date then things get blown out of proportion quickly, but there is somebody special she has her eye on, so she’s excited about where things could go.”
In other words, there seems to be no possibility of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson coming back together. But never say never. Celebrities are known for breaking up and coming back together. Fingers crossed that these two may reignite their whirlwind romance again.
