I love the juxtaposition between the speeding cars and the flowers just swaying in the breeze, calm as can be and determined to be beautiful in the midst of all the grime.

Once, before we were dating, my boyfriend overheard me talking about how much I loved the wildflowers that grew on the side of the road near where we both lived as summer interns. The next day, when I came back to the apartment, I found the kitchen filled with beer bottles transformed into vases and filled with the roadside beauties.
