We can't make this 'stuff' up: Deer breaks into N.C. taxidermy office

Sheriff's deputies responded to an ironic break-in Sunday at a North Carolina taxidermist's office.

WALNUT COVE, N.C. (WTHR) - Sheriff's deputies responded to an ironic break-in Sunday at a North Carolina taxidermist's office.

Bowman's Wildlife Taxidermy in Walnut Cove is closed Sundays and a deer took advantage of the empty store. It broke through a window and entered the store as a Stokes County deputy watched.

The deputy shot video of the deer inside the shop, then let it walk out the back door. He even provided the narration of the event.

"I watched this unfold. Come with me...there is a deer, he broke into the taxidermy trying to free his friend. Can't make this up," the deputy said.

Deputies called the business owners early Sunday morning to report the break-in, which they thought was a joke. The deer did a few hundred dollars worth of damage.

His stuffed friend remains in custody.
