“This is our lobotomy Kaisen”: Jujutsu Kaisen Fans Invade NASA’s Comment Section Over Satellite Photo of Tokyo from Space Station

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 featured one of the best arcs in the series, a.k.a, the Shibuya Incident. The dreadful arc featured some of the saddest moments in the series, including the deaths of some major side characters.

Either way, the popularity of the anime has only increased, thanks to the Shibuya Incident. Another key reason behind Jujutsu Kaisen’s sudden increase in popularity is the season 2 opening King Gnu – SPECIALZ. The opening has turned into a meme and even made its way to the comment section of NASA.

Jujutsu Kaisen Fans Spam Lyrics of SPECIALZ in NASA’s Comment Section

New Year is one of the biggest occasions around the globe. Evidently, the biggest cities on the Earth are lit up at night and the view is breathtaking from space. A perfect example of this is the space view of Tokyo shared by NASA.

However, instead of admiring the beauty of the city, many Jujutsu Kaisen fans flooded the comment section with ‘You are my special.’ One fan labeled this act as Lobotomy Kaisen. Anyway, here is an example of how the fans flooded the comments section with the lyrics of the season 2 opening, shared via a Twitter user (@JJK_MYA).

Sometimes the fandom is so bad, and other times it does things that just… make me laugh and love XD Beautiful and funny effect HAHA

I've seen two local news accounts in the Philippines sharing the same photo and comments are the same 😅

One key factor to take into account is the fact that the image shared by NASA was before the recent disaster in Japan. Yes, we are referring to the 7.6 magnitude earthquake that hit Japan, and as an after-effect a wave of Tsunami hit the coast of the country.

After all, many called out fans for flooding NASA’s comment section with lyrics of the Jujutsu Kaisen opening amidst the catastrophe that Japan is going through right now.

As far as Lobotomy Kaisen is concerned, there is a lore reason why the anime is referred to as the aforementioned term. In layman’s terms, Lobotomy Kaisen means that everyone is insane and incurable.

The reason being Lobotomy was a process that required a surgical incision in the brain, often used to ‘cure’ an insane person. Thanks to the advances in modern medication, the process is no longer performed as it wasn’t even effective.
