The Hilarious Thing You're the Worst's Aya Cash Does During Sex Scenes With Chris Geere Might Surprise You

Glamour: Switching gears, what will we see more of in season two?

Chris: When you live with someone, you discover more about them, and I discover something about her that I can't deal with at all. Most of the time, the original Jimmy would have run away, but because he has feelings for her and wants it to work, he has to compromise.

Aya: There's a lot of debauchery and a lot of one-upmanship and trying to sustain that state of wanting to f—k all the time, party all the time, everything's amazing all the time. They're going so hard at it, but you can't sustain that state. They just keep going, and it's a disaster.

Glamour: Aya, do you relate to Gretchen at all?

Aya: I feel like the person I was becoming at 16 might have ended up like Gretchen, but for whatever reason, I took a hard left! I'm so far from Gretchen, but I am incredibly blunt and sometimes I hurt people's feelings without realizing. Of course, I would immediately apologize where she would be like, "Get over it!"

Glamour: Chris, how much of Jimmy's cynicism do you think you share?

Chris: It's gotten closer and closer as we do more. I have the smallest issues with things, and find myself turning into Jimmy and getting so frustrated with society.

Glamour: What's something your characters have done that you would never do?

Chris: The stuff he does when he's drunk and how he talks to people. It's horrendous and embarrassing, and if I ever saw myself that drunk in real life... [Laughs].

Aya: Cocaine! [Laughs]

Glamour: How much will we see of your characters' work lives in season two?

Chris: Half-way through, he finally comes up with a subject for the second novel, and it comes about in a hilarious way. We refer to something he wrote when he was 11 years old. He decides to take that subject and write about it later, and of course it's probably not going to work.
