Skyrim Gets a Jaw-Dropping Unreal Engine 5 Riverwood Recreation

There are many great visual enhancement mods for Skyrim, but this recent recreation of Riverwood in Unreal Engine 5 looks absolutely stunning.

Have you ever thought of a Skyrim remake in the latest version of Epic Games’ cutting-edge engine? Well, an environment artist has partially done it and the result already looks amazing.

Although an enhanced edition of The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim was released earlier this year, it could never meet the expectations of fans who would love to see a modern remake of the game.

Skyrim: Riverwood Unreal Engine 5 Recreation

Christian Gomm, an environment artist from the Myrkur Games studio and a passionate fan of Skyrim, has recreated a part of the game’s Riverwood map in Unreal Engine 5, which looks stunning.

Unfortunately, this recreation is not supposed to turn into a playable mod as Gomm has only done as part of his portfolio of environment design.

That being said, it still shows how great Skyrim would look like if it was a 9th-gen title. Also, it could probably be a demo of what we can expect from The Elder Scrolls 6, which is still far away from launch, though it was announced in 2018.

The possibility of having a mod for Skyrim powered by Unreal Engine 5 is also at a very low state as the game was built on Bethesda’s own engine, and importing mods from a brand new, high-tier engine like Unreal Engine 5, doesn’t seem to be easy.

The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. You can play the base version of the game on PC and the Xbox consoles for free through the Xbox Game Pass subscription.
