Shang Chi vs Iron Fist
We got our first official look at Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings today in the form of a teaser trailer. In it, we finally got to see the master of Kung Fu, Shang Chi, in action.
The question of “who would win in a fight?” has been around forever. After today’s first look at Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, it’s clear that Marvel isn’t messing around with their latest martial arts master.
However, Shang Chi isn’t the only Marvel character devoted to martial arts. Iron Fist, perhaps most notably known in the public eye for his Netflix series, might give Shang Chi a run for his money in a one on one fight.

Shang Chi vs Iron Fist
You can find our full breakdown of Shang Chi’s powers right here. In summation, he is a martial artist who has a mastery of Kung Fu. Despite not being a superhuman, Shang Chi surpasses many athletic limitations by focusing and channeling his chi.
Iron Fist, on the other hand, has absorbed the chi of a fire-breathing serpent named Shou Lao. This gave him superhuman strength and abilities along with the name “Iron Fist.”
In a fight between the two, it would be easy to say that Iron Fist would win based on his superhuman powers alone. However, Shang Chi’s speed, power, and overall knowledge of martial arts might give him the edge. The two fought in the 2017 comic Iron Fist #7 but ended in a draw.
All that said, according to the 2009 edition of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, Shang Chi’s power level is at a 7 and Iron Fist’s at a 6. According to Marvel, the winner would be Shang Chi.
