RR Swap Meet Sat Sept 11th St Louis - Model Railroader Magazine
Just got back from the show. In a few respects I was disappointed , not a single Monon Engine, Pearl Brewery Car, replacement motors or Grain Car I was looking for. All so learned if they where selling new stuff not to bother looking, might as well support my LHS. We all so missed seeing Tomkat and Lee.
Now, just because I did find what I was looking for does not mean I did not find things to buy! Bought 5 covered hoppers, one big coal car I think and a flat car. Got 6 cars for $18.00, not bad. Also Simon found a Ernst Super Gearing kit for $11.98 new and not open that I can use for my RDC car!
Some of the sellers where on something with the prices they where wanting. I am sorry, but I am not going to spend $8.00 on a used Atlas # 6 turnout when I can get a new one for $13.00. One hobby shop who's name I did not get saw me looking at what appeared to be used Atlas #6's with motors. They where in green shrink wrap. Guy started telling me they where new and 50% off, a mere $15.00 each!
Did find a steal on turnouts. If you seen my brass track posting you will understand why I think this is a good deal. I got 10 right # 4's and 98 Left # 4's for $10.00. That is only .53 cents each.
if you have the time, it is a show worth going to.
