Rivarossi UP Coach Sets - Model Railroader Magazine

Thanks for the confirmation that there was indeeed a premier line of coaches. If I ran across other sets of the Premier line in Western road names such as NP, WP or GN I would not hesitate to buy them.

In my search for information I checked out the Hornby/Rivarossi International web site. Current USA model Railroad locomotives and coaches are carried on that web site.

The items are meant for European sales and for locomotives they carry the BIg Boy, the Allegheny and the Hudson. Coaches for US lines are the new 60' baggage and coaches in the PRR, CGW and unpainted. They do carry the 85' streamliners in only UP livery, the coaches are available along with the dome coaches as well. Freight cars for North America are limited to a variety of flat cars carrying logs in a number of names, note these are not the old log cars from years ago.

I contacted Hornby/Rivarossi USA and inquired about the availablility of these items in North America and was told at present only the 60' coaches were being imported for sale, as well as the BIg Boy and the Hudson locomotives. There is absolutely no plans at present to import any of the other items.

Go figure. It is so apparent that they are only interested in the European market.
