Putter holder in bag or not?

I have found that having an external putter well (I think that is the technical term) has improved my game hugely.

Actually my carry bag doesn't have one, so it is only the very rare occasion I use a trolley I get any benefit. Shouldn't all men have every gizmo/extra possible though.
