Join us for the 31st ANNUAL PUMPKIN SHINE!
Betty Virginia will glow on Tuesday, October 17th,* 2023 when thousands of jack-o’-lanterns and painted pumpkins fill the park!
Through its passion to develop a lifelong love of learning, Southfield School partners with our city to host a unique, family-focused event that welcomes the fall season to NWLA. Pumpkin Shine on Line encourages a love of art by showcasing the work of creative young minds from many local area schools.
This collaborative local event enriches our community, fosters local connection, and allows our school to give back to a city-wide favorite and staple for family fun, Betty Virginia Park.

Admission is free to this unique and family-friendly event hosted by Southfield School and SPAR (Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation).
Free iShuttle transportation to the event will be available from 4:00-8:00 p.m. More details on food are coming soon, but make plans to hang out and enjoy the evening with concessions and play while you marvel at the creative pumpkin displays throughout the park!
As you walk through the park, be sure to stop at the main stage to watch performances from local school choirs, cheer and dance teams, and other talented entertainers!
Local judges will announce prize winners from area schools at 7:30 p.m., with cash awards totaling $1,500 to benefit school art programs. Individual top prizes and recognition will also be awarded.
