(State College, Pa - March 8, 2003) Penn State haulted Indiana's late season momentum with a 74-66 upset win at home Saturday. It was only the second conference win for the Nitanny Lions all season who finished with a 2-14 mark in conference play.

Indiana slips to 8-8 in the Big Ten and 18-11 heading into next week's conference tournament in Chicago. Penn State and Indiana could meet again Thursday in the opening round pending the outcome of Sunday's Minnesota at Illinois game.

Jan Jagla scored 25 points and Sharif Chambliss added 22 for the Nittany Lions. Indiana got within 70-66 with 51 seconds left. But Jan Jagla, Aaron Johnson and B.J. Vossekuil hit free throws
to seal the victory for Penn State. Bracey Wright led Indiana with 21 points. The loss hurt the already tenuous N-C-A-A hopes of Indiana. The Hoosiers fall to 18-and-11. Indiana and Penn State will face each other again in the opening round of the Big Ten tourney Thursday in Chicago.
