Most popular Xbox games — Palworld falls from first place

Our latest gameplay chart of popular Xbox games shows that after two weeks in first place, Palworld has now fallen to third, with Fortnite reclaiming the top spot. Here is the top 40 Xbox Gameplay Chart for the week ending February 11, 2024.

Palworld has had its share of problems after launching into Game Preview last month. Server issues have been one such obstacle (along with eye-watering server fees) but Xbox players should have a better outlook here as Microsoft is now helping out with dedicated servers. We know Palworld has big plans for what's to come, but Pocket Pair is also apparently in dire need of more devs to juggle it all, judging by its recruitment post about how it's "severely lacking in friends." As for this week's change — it's possible some players have jumped into another game after finishing up with the ten Palworld achievements currently available, or are waiting for the overall experience to improve. Either way, it'll be interesting to see how Palworld fares next week.

It's otherwise a quieter chart this week, with no new appearances. Madden NFL 24 is up five spaces to 11 thanks to its Game Pass addition last week, while Brotato, another recent addition, has dropped three spots to 16. The rest of the chart is made up of games moving up or down by one or two spaces to make room. Baldur's Gate 3 has dropped out of the top 20, falling two spots to 21, while the last big change of this week's chart is Resident Evil 2 falling seven spots to 40. Resident Evil 3 is set to join Game Pass tomorrow, however, so we'll likely see that shoot straight into the top levels of the chart next week.

Looking ahead, we have big launches like Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden on the way, as well as all the upcoming Game Pass games.
