Minecraft: Xbox one Edition Blocks Shelves In November

A retail version in the form of a box of Minecraft for Xbox One is slated to arrive on the shelves on November 18 in the US, Microsoft announced today. In-store, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is $20.

The Xbox One digital edition of Minecraft was released in September. Xbox 360 owners can upgrade to the digital Xbox One Minecraft version for $5. This upgrade option is not applicable to the retail version.

Microsoft purchased Minecraft studio Mojang for $2.5 billion in the last month and Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson announced that he would leave the company to return to his experimental, Ludum Dare roots. [Image: Microsoft]
