Medal play on winter greens

My question is because our first medal of the season is on Saturday and because of some form of infection on 2 of our greens we will be playing the first and 6th holes on winter greens. Personally I don't like this for a number of reasons, most notably that the first one is on the side of a hill and pretty much guarantees that bogey is the best score you can get (I played a putt to 1 foot last week and in the end it finished about 15 foot away!).
