Little Black Dress + Statement Nail Polish = Perfect For Early Spring

This is a difficult time of year for getting dressed. I'm dying to bust out cute, flowery spring dresses, but here in the Northeast, it's still too chilly and blah to feel comfortable in them. That's why these photos inspired me--it's amazing how a bold mani can take a plain black dress from ho-hum to fun/perfect for late March/early April ...check it out.

Over the past few weeks, lots of celebs have been brightening up their LBDs by adding stand-out, bold polish. First, here's Julia Roberts. Doesn't this shot remind you of the power of classic bright-red polish? I love trendier shades, but when it comes right down to it, it's hard to beat cherry red. Love that navy patent belt, too.

Ginnifer Goodwin, on the other hand, went for white polish. Paired with her pink lips, rosy cheeks and silvery shadow, the nails really help her black dress feel springy--but subtly.
