His real name is Melvin Russell Ballard Jr. He was born on 8 October 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S. His father’s name is Melvin Russell Ballard, and his mother’s name is Geraldine Smith. He attended the University of Utah for his higher education.

M Russell Ballard was married in 1951, and his wife’s name was Barbara Bowen. The couple has seven children. In addition, Russell has one great-great-grandchild, 105 great-grandchildren, and 43 grandkids.

He died on 12 November 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S. At the time of his death, he was 95 years old.

He married Barbara Bowen on Aug. 28, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple and they are the parents of two sons and five daughters. President Ballard attended the University of Utah, but he left school after he realized he was a good car salesman and began his professional life.

In his early years, M Russell Ballard served as a missionary in England from 1948 to 1950. He served in several important positions throughout the years, including two terms as a bishop, demonstrating his love and dedication to the LDS Church. Ballard became the church’s Canada-Toronto Mission’s president in 1974.

Ballard was summoned to the First Quorum of the Seventy in 1976, when he was president of a mission. He oversaw the editing of the church’s publications for more than five years, one of his many varied tasks as a Seventy.

Gaining even more prominence, M Russell Ballard joined the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 1985, marking a turning point in his spiritual development. After leaving his ministry, Ballard entered a number of other industries, facing challenges but showcasing resilience.
