Jujutsu Kaisen: Can Gojo Satoru’s Domain Expansion Defeat Mahoraga That Made Sukuna Sweat?
Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen couldn’t feature the highly-anticipated battle between Gojo Satoru and a non-exorcised Mahoraga. The strongest sorcerer and the strongest Shikigami in the Kaisenverse became victims of Ryomen Sukuna before they could cross paths. Nonetheless, their deaths haven’t stopped fans from exploring and theorizing the outcome of their potential face-off.
A special-grade sorcerer, Jujutsu Kaisen began with Gojo being at the top of the list when it came to wielding cursed energy. He was cut down by Sukuna in Chapter 236 and the villain dished a similar punishment to Divine General Mahoraga in Chapter 117. While the King of Curses was able to outthink both his opponents, there has been much debate about whether Satoru could get a dub against the Shikigami.
The Odds of Gojo Satoru’s Domain Expansion Being Able To Defeat Mahoraga In Jujutsu Kaisen
Gojo’s Domain Expansion, Unlimited Void, fills the target’s mind with boundless information about the universe. The technique immobilizes the target, leaving them in a trance as seen in Jogo’s case, such that they are unable to think properly. Satoru Gojo had mastered the Domain Expansion to the point when he could cast it for 0.2 seconds and avoid civilian casualties.
The ‘Limitless’ information that Unlimited Void brings into the foray makes it one of the deadliest cursed techniques. That being said, Mahoraga also has a few tricks up his sleeve. The Divine General has the ability to adapt itself to all kinds of techniques, and Sukuna even stated how a simple Dismantle technique would’ve made the Shikigami immune to slashing techniques.
Can Gojo Satoru’s Unlimited Void defeat Mahoraga? Given the caliber of the sorcerer and the learnings readers got from Sukuna’s fight with the Shikigami, Gojo can most certainly defeat Mahoraga. He possesses the speed, technique, and mindset to conquer the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent when it comes to a one-on-one duel without outside interference.
It is true that Mahoraga’s adaptation qualities make it a powerful nemesis, However, Satoru Gojo can do a Sukuna by casting the Unlimited Void Domain Expansion, and when the immobilized Shikigami tries to heal itself and adapt to the technique, Gojo can disrupt the ability with a Hollow Technique: Purple that is aimed at the opponent’s head.

As hinted in Jujutsu Kaisen, Mahoraga did kill a Six Eyes and Limitless user but the sorcerer would’ve been nowhere near to Gojo Satoru’s stature. The Divine General has the ability to defeat Gojo if it adapts to each technique fired at him by the sorcerer separately. However, Satoru has outsmarted the likes of Sukuna in his battles and may wreck Mahoraga with his astute intelligence, vast array of skills, and manipulation of cursed energy.

Gojo Satoru Did Defeat Mahoraga In Chapter 235
After Sukuna defeated Mahoraga, the King of Curses exorcised the Shikigami and tamed it to use its powers. He used the Eight-Handled Wheel in his fight against Gojo Satoru in Chapter 235. The battle for supremacy had multiple twists and turns, with Mahoraga and Merged Beast Agito being a significant challenge to Gojo’s powers.
Sukuna’s Mahoraga was able to adapt to Gojo Satoru’s Domain Expansion technique as the villain invoked the Shikigami inside the domain. Just when it seemed that Mahoraga would adapt to the Red technique, Gojo fused the Red with Blue and created a Hollow: Purple blast that severely injured Sukuna and incapacitated the latter’s ability to use Mahoraga.
Unfortunately, Sukuns’s strategic use of Mahoraga and the latter being able to adapt itself to the Infinity eventually led to Gojo’s demise. The Divine General slashed Satoru’s arm and rendered the Infinity that coated the sorcerer useless, allowing Sukuna to use normal attacks like Dismantle to inflict hurt on the Six-Eyes user.
