Jennifer Lopez Wishes Ben Affleck a Happy One-Year Anniversary With New Lyrics

Jennifer Lopez is celebrating her one-year wedding anniversary with a little something for everybody, it seems. A year after she and Ben Affleck eloped in Las Vegas, Lopez updated her newsletter “On the JLo” with a teaser snippet from her new song “Midnight Trip to Vegas,” which is from her yet-to-be-released album This Is Me…Now. 

In the selfie video posted to the newsletter, Lopez lip-synchs along as the song plays in the background: “Then you whispered in my ear / Said let’s get out of here / We can disappear tonight,” she sings on the track. “What about a midnight trip to Vegas / Just me and you baby / Throw the kids in the back of the pink Cadillac / And us in the bathroom changing.”

On her Instagram, Lopez teased the new snippet along with two pics of herself in her wedding dress. “One year since our Midnight Trip To Vegas,” she wrote in the caption. “Go to On The JLo for a special surprise….”

Obviously, the song is about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's real-life midnight trip to Vegas on July 17, 2022, when they got married—which she also shared on On the JLo. “Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,” the singer wrote to her fans. “Behind us two men held hands and held each other. In front of us, a young couple who made the three hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday—all of us wanting the same thing— for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage.”
