Jeffrey Dean Morgan Was Ready To Beg ‘The Boys’ Creator For More Screentime With Jensen Ackles For a Weird Reason

Following his onscreen son’s footsteps, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is set to join the world of The Boys, reuniting with his Supernatural costar Jensen Ackles and showrunner Eric Kripke. Known for playing Negan in AMC’s The Walking Dead and its spin-off Dead City, the Dawn of Justice Star initially rose to stardom following his part in CW’s Supernatural, starring Jensen Ackles at the forefront.

While he parted ways with the show back in season 2, sacrificing himself to save his son, the actor did go on to return in the 300th episode of the show and even asked the creator to increase his screen time.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Was Fixated on Messing With His Costars

Reflecting on his time with Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki on the show, who played Dean and Sam Winchester in the show, Jeffrey Dean Morgan said they were “like three idiot brothers” on set. Reasonably, the actor was excited to join forces with the duo upon his return and joked that he was ready to beg Eric Kripke to increase his part so that he could mess with the two actors. He was quoted saying (Via IMDb),

“I’m going to call Eric [Eric Kripke] and beg for my life and find a way to come back and harass these guys [Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki] in some way.”

And almost 2-decades later since starting out together in Supernatural, Ackles and Morgan are once again set to join forces in the forthcoming season of The Boys.

Apart From Batman, Lobo Is the Only DC Character Jeffrey Dean Morgan Wanted to Play

While Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s Flashpoint Batman never came to fruition, this isn’t the lone DC character he expressed interest in playing. During his promotion of 2021’s The Unholy, the actor showcased interest in tackling the intergalactic bounty hunter, stating that Lobo is badass. He told CinePOP:

“I really wanted to do Lobo for a long time, but we’ll see. We’ll see, I have something maybe cooking and I’ll let you know soon if that turns out to be, but I love the world of comic books and hope that I get to stay playing in this world for a long time.”

Unfortunately, keeping in mind that Jason Momoa is heavily rumored to be recast as Lobo in James Gunn’s DCU, Morgan’s dream might never come to fruition. But we might get to see his Supernatural costar, Jensen Ackles, in the DC universe, as the actor has expressed his desire to tackle Batman, and with DCU’s Batman set to be older, he might able to land it.

Supernatural is available to stream on Netflix.
