Newton committed to the University of Florida in 2007. After transferring to Blinn College in 2009, he led the team to a NJCAA National Championship, throwing for more than 2,800 yards and 22 TDs. He also rushed for more than 650 yards en route to being named as a Juco All-American honorable mention.
He signed with the Auburn Tigers after his stint with Blinn College. At Auburn in 2010, Newton broke out and won the Heisman Trophy that year en route to winning the BCS National Championship. Newton declared for the 2011 NFL Draft and was selected first overall by the Panthers. He won the NFL MVP in 2015 and led the Panthers to a 15-1 record en route to a Super Bowl appearance.
