Here’s What Jackson Will Look Like in HBO’s the Last of Us
It seems as though HBO is going all out in The Last of Us TV show by implementing a very real looking Jackson into the series.
When fans first saw Jackson in The Last of Us, this small town initially run by Maria and her father and then Tommy, was one of the many places Joel and Ellie stopped off at during their journey across the United States.
Powered by a hydroelectric dam within the nature soaked woods, rivers and mountains of Wyoming, Jackson became a thriving community when we last saw it in The Last of Us 2 and what a beautiful place it is.
Naturally, HBO wanted to replicate this picturesque town from the game and it seems like they have done just that by choosing a stunning area of beauty in Alberta called Canmore.
In some recent tweets from the hard-working people over on The Last of Us on HBO – Status Twitter account, we have been treated to a little look at how Jackson will appear when the series airs sometime next year. As you can see from the images, it’s certainly an amazing fit that incorporates those snowy peaks in the background and almost identical buildings.
“Canmore is about to look a lot more like a post-apocalyptic Jackson, Wyoming! HBO’s #TheLastofUs is coming to town and will be shooting at various locations within the downtown core throughout November.” (1/2)

“Residents can expect to see aesthetic changes and road closures around the downtown area that will temporarily transform select areas of downtown Canmore into Jackson, Wyoming.” (2/2)

There were also four images apparently from a town council meeting in Canmore, Alberta that showcased how they were planning to transform Canmore into post-apocalyptic Jackson later this month. These are just some of the images fans have seen over the past couple of months on HBO’s development.
Lately, we have also seen Pedro Pascal (Joel) standing in front of a building with Ellie and Tess that’s covered in the dreaded Cordyceps fungus.
Although we don’t have a firm release date for HBO’s The Last of Us, we do know that it should showcase next year at some stage. In the meantime, I’m sure fans will be treated to plenty more of these behind the scenes images and videos.
