Hedgehog wheels (any point?) | Golf Monthly

I have a 3 wheel push trolley & an electric trolley.
My home course doesn't insist on Hedgehog's during the wet weather, they either allow trolleys or ban them when it gets boggy, ( carry only) but, a few course's near me that I play occasionally insist on them in winter.
I have now fitted my Hedgehog wheels, but I do wonder what difference they actually make?
When I have used both types of wheel during wet weather, I see little difference in the function of either types of wheel.
