Guide for Among Us - Tasks

There are four different types of tasks in the game. The number of tasks and whether or not visual effects are turned on can be adjusted by the host before the match begins. If you die, you may continue to work on your tasks. By getting all tasks completed before the imposter kills everyone, you may still help the crewmates win.

  • Common tasks - These are tasks where if one crewmate has it, then all crewmates have it and vice versa. If you see an imposter doing a common task, such as admin card swipe, that you do not have, then you know they are an imposter.
  • Short tasks - These tasks are completed in single steps and take little time, but have slightly varied time lengths between crewmates. Cleaning the vents is a good example.
  • Long tasks - These tasks are completed in multiple steps and take longer to complete. Starting the reactor is a good example. After you have completed the first part, a yellow arrow will appear on the screen directing you to the next location of the task.
  • Visual tasks - These tasks show a visual animation while being performed if the host has the options turned on to do so. This is a good way to prove you are not an imposter.
