In God of War Ragnarok, the realms are full of conflict, and not everyone is able to survive as well as Kratos and Atreus. Throughout their journey through Vanaheim, Kratos, Atreus, and Freya encounter many fallen souls who can’t move on without a little help.
A handful of souls still reside in The Crater area of Vanaheim, each needing to find some precious item to help them restore their memories of their life, and finally be at peace. This guide will walk you through how to complete the favor - Casualties of War: The Toy.
Talk To The Spirit
To start the mission, navigate to The Jungle Mystic Gateway in the southern part of the greater Jungle area. If you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to restore the river before you can reach the gateway. You can do so by climbing to the top of the dam in The Jungle area and releasing the dam waters. After doing so, the gateway is just across the river next to an altar.
Here, you’ll find the spirit of a father who was separated from his child upon death. In order to restore his memories of what exactly happened, he asks you to locate the missing toy. After speaking to the spirit, turn around and hop back into the boat. Before you leave, you can also use the altar to change it to daytime, if it wasn’t already daytime to begin with. This is helpful for accessing more areas of The Jungle.
Once in the boat, turn right towards the tree made of vines and start heading down the river. Before you reach the bridge, there is an opening with a stone wall in the middle. Head through there and continue left through a small cave. This will lead to an opening where you can dock your boat.
After docking, move up through the rubble and slide through the gap in the wall. This will lead you into an open area right in front of the bridge of vines. If it is your first time in this area, you’ll need to fight two Ogres first. Once you are free to move about the area, the toy is located on the northeastern side of the platform. Grab it to speak to the spirit and complete the mission.
