General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler announced plans Wednesday to close all of their factories due to worker fears about COVID-19.
DETROIT (WTHR/AP) - General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler announced plans Wednesday to close all of their factories due to worker fears about COVID-19.
According to the UAW, Ford will suspend production at all manufacturing plants in North America through March 30 to clean its facilities and protect the workforce.
Ford says the closure will start at the end of Thursday evening shifts.
GM and Fiat Chrysler have not said when or how long their plant closures will be.
