Giles Deacon: Everything You Need To Know
Branching Out on His Own: Deacon launched his own label, Giles, based in London, in 2003. His early avant-garde runway shows were an immediate hit with the press and featured top supermodels like Linda Evangelista, Lily Cole, and Karen Elson.
He's a Designer Darling: He’s won quite a few awards over the years, including notably being named British Designer of the Year in 2006. He is known for being one of the designers who put London on the fashion map in the aughts, allowing the city to compete with other fashion capitals Paris, New York, and Milan.

Too Cool: Deacon is personally connected to HBO’s Game of Thrones! He’s been in a high-profile relationship with the show's star Gwendoline Christie for over four years. No surprise, Christie often wears his creations when she walks down the red carpet.
Made-to-Order Only: As a designer, Deacon is now only making couture pieces. What does that mean exactly? You can’t just walk into a store to buy one of Deacon’s creations; you have to work directly with his studio to create special made-to-order pieces solely for you. And it will cost you. His creations are known to cost in the four figures and up.
Celeb Magnet: He’s dressed a ton of celebrities over the years, including Scarlett Johansson, Kate Hudson, Cate Blanchett, Solange Knowles, Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham, Kerry Washington, and so many more.

Not a Wedding-Dress Guy: Deacon is surprisingly not a big fan of designing wedding dresses (despite having designed the gown his sister walked down the aisle in). He told The Guardian in 2010 of working with brides:
“They don't actually want to listen to you because they've been planning it for years and years—it's almost like you've become just a dressmaker. And they can't make up their minds, and then their mother wants to see it, and my head starts spinning at that point.”
Something tells us the opportunity to dress Pippa for her big day was too good to pass up.
