Genshin Impact Connection Failed Issue Fix
Genshin Impact in its Global version has multiple servers players can play on, and players on the America server are currently experiencing Connection Failed issues.
As a reminder, Genshin Impact has a Chinese server, and a Global server. The Global server is subdivided at login between America, Europe, Asia, and Taiwan + Hong Kong + Macao. It’s possible for one of the servers of the Global version to suddenly become offline, while the other servers stay online fine.
What’s happening with the Genshin Impact server right now?
Multiple Genshin Impact players on the America server on March 3 are reporting connection failed issues. However, some other servers like the Asia server and the Europe server are going fine right now, DualShockers verified firsthand.
Please help. I’ve been disconnected so much from Genshin- I- is it my internet? Is anyone else experiencing this? I play on the North American server- has the gods finally claimed me as a Razor main?

It’s important to note Genshin Impact never goes through emergency maintenance.
In other words, if you can’t connect to all Genshin Impact servers, it means there’s a problem with your own connection. However, if there’s a single server you can’t connect to, like what’s happening now, this is on the server side. However, the server should be back up very quickly, as the game doesn’t get its servers down for emergency maintenance.
Bugs and issues in Genshin Impact are corrected by the developers either when the game is still online, or during the maintenance for each big update. All servers become offline during these maintenance, and this happens around every six weeks. Genshin Impact is currently on version 1.3. Developer miHoYo did not announce the release date for the Version 1.4 update yet, but that’s when the next maintenance is planned.
Lastly, note that anyone can play on any server of the Global version.
If your usual server is down, and you really want some Genshin Impact, you can always play on another server. However, save data is not shared between the servers.
As such, if you’re a huge Genshin Impact player, it might be a good idea to start another run on another server. Maybe with the other twin protagonist, and experience the game again. You could even get characters you don’t have on your main server and try different types of gameplay. That way, you could still play even when your usual server is experiencing Connection Failed problems.
Genshin Impact was released in September 28, 2020, worldwide. The open world, action JRPG with co-op multiplayer and gacha elements is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Mobile. A Switch version of Genshin Impact was also announced but with no release date yet.
