Foundation on Apple TV+ Release Date, Time, and Episode Count

Foundation TV show is finally close to its official release on Apple TV Plus. If you’re also waiting to watch the new drama series, here’s everything you need to know about its release schedule.

Produced by David S. Goyer, Foundation is an upcoming American Sci-fi drama series. It is based on the book series written by Isaac Asimov, and in 2018, Apple TV closed a deal to adapt it into a live-action show.

The TV show flaunts an incredible cast, including Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Alfred Enoch, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, and many more. The premise of Foundation is so interesting that everyone is eager to see if the tv show would do justice to the original material.

When Does Foundation Come Out on Apple TV Plus?

The show creators confirmed that Foundation would premiere on Thursday, September 23rd, or Friday, September 24th, depending on your region.

Interestingly, the first two episodes will release simultaneously on the launch day. So, maybe it’s time for you to consider taking a subscription to Apple TV Plus. The streaming platform is home to several other notable shows, the latest being the second season of Jason Momoa’s SEE.

Unlike most streaming services, Apple TV Plus has a habit of releasing new TV shows and movies at 12 AM EDT (Eastern Timing). However, for Foundation, the streamer is breaking the tradition, as the first two episodes will be available to watch at 9 PM EDT/6 PM PDT on September 23rd, 2021.

Foundation Season 1 Episode Count

The showrunners want to cover the entire story of Foundation in about 80 episodes. However, it’s confirmed that the first season of the TV show would consist of 10 episodes. So, after the launch day, we’ll have eight more episodes to look forward to before Season 1 comes to an end.

Can’t wait to see the adaptations of three of my favorite book series. They will be here soon!

-Foundation is coming to AppleTV tomorrow
-Dune will (finally!) be in theaters on 10/22
-and Wheel of Time will be on Amazon Prime in November.

What’s the Plot of Foundation?

The synopsis of Foundation from Apple TV Plus says that it “Chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.”

Foundation revolves around Hari Seldon, a mathematical genius who discovers that the end of the Galactic Empire is inevitable. He believes that it would then take around 30,000 years before the next empire could rise. However, the empire’s rulers think that Seldon is nothing but a charlatan.

So, Seldon finds an alternative way to preserve the knowledge of humankind. He creates the Foundation, a group of remarkable scientists, engineers, and historians. The group travels to a new planet and plans to preserve what humanity has learned so far, so the second empire could use that to rebuild.
