Los Angeles police say 'Soul Train' host Don Cornelius has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Cornelius was 75 years old.
Los Angeles Police responded to a 911 call at Cornelius' Sherman Oaks home early Wednesday morning.
They confirm that Cornelius was found with a single gunshot wound. He was taken to Ceaders-Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Soul Train ran for more than 30 years and hosted a who's-who lineup of R&B superstars including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Barry White and the Jackson 5.
