Although John filed for divorce, Huberdeau already hired a renowned Miami attorney, Raymond Rafool, to handle her case. Raymond Rafool told TMZ at the time that before Cena filing for a divorce, he (Cena) approached Liz with a pre-divorce financial settlement, but she refused to sign it because she believed she could still make her marriage work.

Although it is indeed unfortunate that John Cena decided to divorce his high school sweetheart Liz Cena; particularly, after they have come so far in their lives and in his career together, Liz will and really has no choice but to pursue all of her rights and entitlements.
Huberdeau contested the divorce by pointing out the errors in the divorcé petition filed by Cena. She also insisted that while Cena claimed there is no marital property, there is and she wants to share. Huberdeau also challenged the prenup agreement they signed and claimed that her husband was being unfaithful, by sleeping with other women behind her back.
The couple eventually finalised their divorce. The terms of the settlement are confidential, but Huberdeaus’s attorney revealed that everything was been settled amicably. Huberdeau and Cena had no children together, as it was reported that the wrestler was not ready to become a father.
Following Cena’s divorce from Huberdeau, he started dating co-wrestler Nikki Bella, a few months later but they later split.
