Drake wins N1.2bn after betting big on Adesanya’s UFC victory
Aubrey Drake Graham, a Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter, professionally known as Drake, has won a massive $2.7 million (N1,255,500,000.00) after Israel Adesanya reclaimed the middleweight title by knocking out Alex Pereira at UFC 287 this morning.
The 185lb title was reclaimed by the Nigerian-born New Zealander just five months after it was lost to his arch-rival Pereira, who had previously beaten him twice in kickboxing.

Drake lost $1.6 million after betting on Adesanya to win that fight, but he made up for it in the rapper’s rematch with Pereira.
According to the Mirror UK, the Canadian put $500,000 on Adesanya to win, which paid out $885,000, and another $400,000 on him to win via knockout, which paid out $1.8 million.

After his battle, ‘Stylebender’ was asked about Drake’s wager, and he responded, “Shoutout to everyone who bet on me, but you have to understand that when I step into the octagon, I put my life on the line. That is the largest parlay possible. I’m a gambler as well, so shoutout to stake, we’re ready to close another deal and receive more money.”
Adesanya’s victory over Pereira is his 24th in mixed martial arts (MMA), and he has only two losses in his career.
