Diversified Hobby Shops? - Classic Toy Trains Magazine
Genesee Hardware in Batavia, NY. It's a hardware store. There was a Schwinn Bike shop around the corner from this store - Adam Miller Toy & Bicycle - that carried trains for several years.
A distant cousin of mine in Utica, NY did the bikes & trains too... Endres Cycle Shop from ~ 1940's to ~ 1970's. They got more into lawn & garden, & snowmobiles, when they moved to New Hartford. The last time I was in there they were a John Deere / Ski-Doo shop, no bikes, no trains.
I got a lot of my trains as a youngster at ABC Sport Shop in Rochester, NY. Sporting goods shop - skates, baseball, hockey, etc.
Leif's Sales & Service in Honeoye Falls/Bloomfield/Mendon, NY. It's a chain saw / lawn & garden / small engine shop. "Pop's" in Perry, NY was a similar setup.
T&D Trophies - Rochester / Henrietta, NY. Well, it's a trophy shop.
