‘Cursed’: Netflix’s New TV Show Looks Like ‘Game of Thrones’ Meets ‘The Hunger Games’
Your next TV obsession, Cursed, is hitting Netflix July 17, and it stars none other than Katherine Langford from 13 Reasons Why. But this time around, she’s traded Hannah Baker’s tapes for Excalibur.
Based on a book series of the same name, the streaming platform’s anticipated summer fantasy series is “a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake,” according to the description on the Netflix press website. Nimue is played by Langford.
“After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword,” the series description continues. “Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.”
Netflix released the first set of images of the show on Twitter to get fans excited:
