Covert Affairs' Piper Perabo Plans the Perfect TV Watch Party for Us. Come See!
After months of reruns, prime-time TV is back. There are premieres and pilots, the Emmys and the World Series, and, of course, the big finale of Breaking Bad. And all that calls for celebration. Enter Piper Perabo, 37, who plays CIA officer Annie Walker on Covert Affairs and is co-owner with friends of the buzzy New York City eatery Jack's Wife Freda. Her idea: Invite over a couchful of pals, whip up dessert, and gather 'round the TV. Listen in, and steal some secrets.
Before we get to the fab food, let's discuss hosting a TV night. Attire?
Piper Perabo: Yoga pants, a sweatshirt, and shoes off.
Etiquette-wise, is it OK to talk during a show or only when a commercial is on?
Perabo: It would be really hard for me not to talk during a show, so I have to allow it.
Now, what's your favorite show?
Perabo: I like Anderson Cooper 360—I could look at his blue eyes until…well, I hope he never leaves the news. But my top pick is Antiques Roadshow. You get these spoonfuls of history. I love it.
Any series you've binged on lately?
Perabo: Friday Night Lights—I watched the first season in a week—and Homeland. Like Covert Affairs, it's about the CIA, so it's interesting for me to compare the two.
What do you like to watch with friends?
Perabo: Sports! For the Stanley Cup Final, we had a pool going on set with the whole crew.
Trivia time: Which TV character would you want to date or marry?
Perabo: Bruce Willis from Moonlighting. I was nine when the show premiered, but once you've seen him, you don't forget.
