Couple who went viral for simple wedding mark 10th anniversary

A South African woman who went viral years ago after images from her simple wedding went viral has claimed she and her husband are still happily married, and netizens can’t get over the love.

They got married 10 years ago without inviting any guests, relatives, or friends, and images of them leaving the registry went viral.

The lady, known as Madi Maruping, wore a simple wedding gown, while her husband wore a basic white shirt and trousers.

In a similar fashion, instead of throwing a celebration, the couple chose to celebrate their tenth anniversary by taking a well-deserved vacation together.

According to Madi, they considered spending $100,000 on an anniversary party but decided instead to take a trip.

She commented that it was preferable to organising an event in which they had to feed 100 “fake people in one day”.

Madi wrote; “10yrs later still happily married, the plan was to have 10yrs wedding anniversary but budget it’s close to 100k..rather go on vacation than feeding 100 fake people in 1 day.”
