Washing up liquid does contain a lot of salt, so rinse well before drying. It is not just forged clubs that will have a problem with salt either, any carbon steel heads will go rusty pretty quickly in salt water. The chrome finish is not a protective finish, more decorative. Don't use it on your car either...

I don't remember the last time I cleaned my sticks. It rains a lot, so that keeps most of the dirt off, and I use a towel to dry my clubs after every shot. I change my grips every ten years whether they need doing or not.
