Bachelor in Paradise's Carly Waddell Shares Why She's Really, Truly in Love With Evan Bass

Glamour: Were you hoping to meet anyone in particular going into this season?

Carly: No. I didn’t want to do that because I remember last year, my best friend said, "You need to meet Kirk." I didn’t know anything about him, but when I walked in [and saw him], I was like, "OK!" and zeroed in. This time I just wanted to walk in and not know anyone. I didn’t really tell anyone I was coming. Bachelor people talk and know who’s coming, and I didn’t want to do that. I just wanted to go in with an open mind and get to know people that I ordinarily get to know and just see what happened.

Glamour: Who among your Bachelor girlfriends will be most shocked when they find out that you and Evan fell in love?

Carly: Juelia [Kinney]! She’s going to have a heart attack! She was very reluctant about me coming back. Jade was like, "Go for it, girl! Have fun!" Juelia said, "You were heartbroken last time, do you want to even put yourself out there again? That was really hard for you." I just said, "Juelia, who knows what will happen?" I know that when I call her up and say I’m in love, she’s going to be like, "Say what?!"

Glamour: Are you hoping to be engaged on the finale?

Carly: I’m not quite sure what I’m hoping before because I don’t want to set myself up with expectations and be disappointed, but I’m so excited about him having kids. I can’t wait. I know he’s dated people in the past that have said, "Oh, you’re a dad? I’m not into that." I’m so into that. I’m 30. I want kids; he wants more kids. We’ve already discussed that. He has three boys—ages 14, 11, and 8. We’ve talked about having kids. He wants more, and I’m game. We’re just going to be maybe one big happy family, and I’m so excited. I can’t even contain my excitement for that.

Glamour: Have you already decided how things will be when you get home?

Carly: Actually, the day I’m getting back, I’m going to see Juelia in San Diego, which is really funny. Evan is going to get back into his business scene, and he’s going to talk to his kids. And then as soon as I get back from San Diego, we are going to set something up where I can meet his kids, obviously. I told him I was nervous, and he said, "They’re going to love you!" I’m just so looking forward to it. I can’t even stop smiling about it; I’m so excited! And family-wise, he’s going to eventually meet my family. I’m not sure when that will be, but I want it to be really soon.
