A Complete Timeline of Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter’s Relationship
September 22: A source tells People that the couple has ended their whirlwind relationship. “Miley and Kaitlyn broke up,” the source said. “They’re still friends.”
The sourced added, "They’ve been friends forever and were there for each other when they were both getting separated... but they’re just not in a romantic relationship anymore.”
Just hours after news broke of the split, Cyrus performed some of her biggest hits at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. She sang her new *Charlie’s Angels'* track, "Don’t Call Me Angel,"and also covered Pink Floyd’s "Comfortably Numb" and Led Zeppelin’s "Black Dog." She was also seen hanging out with her mom, Tish Cyrus, and her older sister, Brandi Cyrus, both before and after her set. One source told People later that Cyrus just wants to turn her attention to making music after such high-profile, back-to-back relationships.
"Miley doesn’t want a serious relationship," the source said. "She and Kaitlynn spent every day together, and it just wasn't anything that Miley wanted to continue doing...She wants to focus on her career."
September 25: Cyrus shared a photo of herself hiking in Utah, where she's reportedly taking some time away to focus on herself following the breakup. She wrote in the caption, “But if you look at me closely ... you can see it in my eyes .... this girl will always find .... her way.....” Her words, which are actually lyrics to Britney Spears' "I'm Not a Girl Not Yet a Woman," seem to be a sign that she's doing just fine. Later, she went on a posting spree, sharing tons of images from her vacation, including ones of her kayaking, posing with her dog, and standing over some sweeping mountain views.
